For 14 years, the Virginia Beach Funk Fest Beach Party has brought the funk to the Oceanfront with two days of electrifying music, delectable food, and a diverse array of vendors.
The heartbeat of the festival is its music, echoing across the beach at 24th Street on Friday and Saturday, August 23-24.
Rooted in R&B, jazz, gospel, and blues, funk is a genre that has left an indelible mark on the music scene. Influential artists like James Brown and George Clinton, the leader of Parliament-Funkadelic, have inspired countless musicians and played pivotal roles in the evolution of other genres such as disco and hip hop.

The Box Office will be located inside 24th Street Park.
The Box Office will open at 10:00am both Friday and Saturday (August 23-24).
In response to dozens of requests from our Preferred Ticket holders, we are opening the Box Office EARLY so our most dedicated attendees do not have to stand in line all day in the hot sun, waiting to get prime seating on the beach! This year, the Box Office will be open between 10am-12pm on Friday and Saturday FOR TICKET HOLDERS ONLY to provide early access to the preferred viewing area. Come early to get scanned and receive a wristband, which will allow you access into the preferred viewing area to place your chairs on the beach and secure your spot for the day. Please note, the preferred viewing area will be CLOSED from 12-3:30pm for artist sound checks. Security will be onsite to ensure no chairs are moved or rearranged during that time and throughout the day. Preferred seating will reopen at 3:30pm.
BOX OFFICE SCHEDULE:
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM – Box Office opens for ticket holders to get their tickets scanned and receive their wristbands. Preferred Seating area OPEN for ticket holders to place their chairs on the beach.
12:00 PM – Preferred Seating area CLOSED during artist sound checks. Box Office remains OPEN.
3:30 PM – Preferred Seating area RE-OPENS after sound check.
Show Times
The shows start at 6pm both days.
Gates
The General Admission area will always be open. It is free and open to the public.
The Preferred Viewing area will be open from 10:00am-12:30pm and after 3:30pm for guests to place their chairs inside after they have checked-in and received wristbands at the Box Office. They will not be able to remain in the Preferred Viewing area until those gates are open for the show, which will be approximately 3:30pm-4:00pm.
Entrances
The entrance for Preferred Viewing (ticketed) will be from the boardwalk at 24th Street.
The entrance for General Admission (free viewing) will be from the boardwalk at 25th Street.
ADA Viewing
There will be ADA viewing from both the beach and the boardwalk at 24th Street.
Ticket Sales
We anticipate having very few single-day tickets, if any, available, at the Box Office. We are almost sold out of 2-day Preferred Viewing tickets. They should be purchased in advance through Ticketmaster, if available.
The General Admission area is free and open to the public, and we invite guests without tickets to enjoy the show from that location.

General admission to the Virginia Beach Funk Fest Beach Party is free, but capacity is limited.
For our guests desiring a closer, more comfortable viewing experience, we offer a ticketed Preferred Viewing section.
The Preferred Viewing ticket is a two-day pass providing a closer viewing area (patrons bring their own beach chairs), dedicated portable restrooms, and a cash bar. Preferred Viewing admission is guaranteed, while general admission is limited and strictly first-come, first-served.

- Food and Drink
Not Allowed:
- ALCOHOL
- GLASS CONTAINERS
- Bicycles
- Pets (except certified service animals)
- Professional Camera/Video Equipment
